HAND HELD FRET PRESS
For those luthiers who always wanted this professional fretting tool, but were just not willing to pay that high price at Stewmac's,here is an excellent opportunity to purchase one for half the price. It might look a little less fancy ,but let me assure you, functionally , I would argue, this one is better. Why? Well, it will get you trough a whole neck.
This was one of the feedback post on their website:
"I purchased this tool to do a re-fret where hammering was not going to be a good option for setting the frets. This tool worked well for what I intended. My only feedback is that it would be nice to have a selection of bottom cauls that would accommodate the transition from the neck to the heel and also for the flat portion of a fender neck at the heel where it mounts to the body. In other words, it would make the tool useful through the full length of a removable neck."
Well here at Guitarbuilderonline.com we like to solve the shortcomings of some tools.
So we have developed additional two bottom cauls. One for the heel of the neck and the other for a transitional parts, like a first fret on some Fender necks and a portion after 12th fret, close to the heel.
The tool comes with 3 bottom cauls , 5 brass radius inserts ,7-1/4", 9-1/2", 12" and 16", and a special 6"-radius insert to hold down the fret ends for gluing, 1 Allen key.
Additional inserts can be ordered for $5 each.

NUT AND SADDLE SANDER on sale now for $110 (reg. $125)

Replacing ,or adjusting a guitar neck nut or an acoustic guitar saddle is one of the most common job done in guitar repair shop. Every busy luthier should have one in his toolbox.
It is not possible getting your nut bottom sanded square just holding it with your hand. You do need some tool to hold it in,to get it right for a tight fit that makes for a good tone.
GUITAR NUT AND SADDLE SANDER will help you to do that.
Just pop it in and ride the sander on the strip of a sand paper on a flat surface, until the wheels start turning.
Not only a bottom of your nut or saddle will get perfectly squared and flat, you will also be able to use adjustment screws placed in one of the corresponding set of holes (on set for the nut , another for a saddle) to dial exact amount you want to remove.
The markings (8 of them) under the adjusting screws make for a very fine adjustment. Each mark equals about 0.1 mm.
In imperial, one whole turn is 1/32", so 4 marks is 1/64" and so on.
This tool , like all guitarbuilderonline's tools is made right here in North America (Canada).
The complete instruction how to use the sander will be posted here, hopefully soon.
